This was truly the highlight of my trip to North Carolina. I was so excited to realize there was an exit ramp right outside of Maggie Valley to enter The Blue Ridge Parkway . The amazing drive, also known as "America's Favorite Drive" is 469 miles long connecting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. We actually took 2 days to drive this beauty. The first day we entered in Maggie Valley and drove a few hours then back so we could take it all in. The second day we entered the Parkway from Pisgah Highway and drove down to Pisgah National Forest . Overlooking the mountain side on the Parkway will simply take your breath away! There are so many overlooks, trails, picnic spots, camping & lodging along the Parkway to enjoy. What an amazing journey to plan a road trip and drive the whole way.
