I am not a huge sports fan by any means, but I am always excited to arrive at a session for the Banister's Christmas cards! For the last few years, they have decided to do their attire showing the world their favorite football team! Last year they wore their collegate team, USC Gamecocks. This year they sported their Seattle Seahawks shirts! Now as much as I love college football, I'll admit I'm not much of a NFL fan as I said earlier. I'm pretty sure I won't even watch the Super Bowl this Sunday. I did decide however to post this amazingly sporty family showing their team spirit in honor of this Sunday! Happy Super Bowl weekend to everyone watching... and good luck { sorry Broncos fans, I don't have any of your fans as clients }.

I will admit it. For the last 3.5 years I have shot only in auto mode. I know I know, terrible, bad, slap me on the wrist. To be honest, manual mode scared the pants off of me. I just figured it would be so much easier to just let the camera pick the right settings. After all, that is what its for right? Wrong. This year, my goal for 2014 is revamping my business. I began doing business research, better photo research, and so on. I soon realized all these amazing photographers I admired had such wonderful images that I envyed. Perfect exposure, clarity, everything. Dont get me wrong, I love my work. I love the images I am able to capture for people. The emotion in a lifestyle or engagement shoot. The joy of a 1 year old smashing their first birthday cake. I love every image I take. But there was just something about these other photographers images that looked better. Ive been photographing my cousin Sara & her beautiful children for years now. This tiem we decided to something a little different: Her & her Honey, minus the kids. Although it was 32* and FREEZING, we got it done. You can only slightly tell they were freezing haha!
