As I scrolled through Facebook a few minutes ago, I saw a post from a friend that reminded me of something I in fact told my own husband when we started dating 8 years ago: "Don't ever buy me flowers on Valentine's Day." And in 8 years...he hasn't. Now, I love a sweet sursie on V-Day as much as the next girl don't get me wrong, but I have to be honest in saying that I would much rather get something I'll enjoy a whole lot more than flowers that, although they are pretty, will be long gone in a week. And no I don't mean a box of candy either. Dinner is always a nice idea, however, dinner out on Valentines day?! Get real. Not unless you want to wait for hours on a table, which I don't. Last year I got a massage. Amazing Valentine's Day gift idea, props to him for that one! Yes, technically after an hour it was long gone too but at it felt wonderful while it was happening. And I know it's terrible but as much as I needed it, I waited 6 months to actually use it. What can I say, life is hectic. Since the Big Winter Storm hit us just 2 days ago, my own gift giving was slim pickin's when I was finally able to get out today. The girls missed their V-Day parties and dances due to the weather and school being closed almost all week. Yea talk about major cabin fever.. but that's a whole new post coming this weekend! So any who, total side tracked, finally made it to the store and apparently everyone had already beat me to the punch. Shelves 95% cleared. Thankfully I was able to pick up a few sweets for the girls & husband. Good thing they aren't picky? We will see tonight how the hubs made out with his 'last minute' shopping. But hey, we had an excuse this year, right?
This time 14 YEARS ago, yours truly was preparing for life after graduation. It seems so unreal. I can remember getting our outfits together for graduation pictures and deciding what time we were going to meet because of course we had to go together! We would meet that day at our high school, stand posed for outdoor "casual" photos first, then head to the library for our "formal" shots. I am pretty sure that is the same routine now a days. BUT not for these lovely ladies! Last weekend, I met these two beautiful young ladies, best friends graduating from 2 different high schools. We met at Mepkin Abbey in Monks Corner SC. What an amazing setting as you can see! I had no problem getting laughs from these two and their true personalities came pouring out in each image! They just flowed together so well, I could see why they were best friends! I had so much fun with these young ladies and a HUGE Congrats to them on their graduation! Aren't they b...
