This year for my birthday, we decided to take a girls trip down to St Augustine, Florida! I’m a sucker for a historic city and St Augustine definitely fits that description! Founded in 1565 by Spanish explorers, it is the oldest occupied European-established settlement within the continental US.
There is so much to explore & experience in St Augustine, that we definitely didn’t get to see everything! We will definitely be returning in the future, but until then, here are some of our favorites in St Augustine!
Where we stayed:
This hotel was just perfect for our stay! With everything from the convenient pool, easy parking, continental breakfast to the friendly and helpful staff! Not to mention the hotels private beach just across the street! Stay tuned for a full detailed post of our stay coming soon!
Which brings us to..
Vilano Beach!
This beach was so beautiful and relaxing! The sand in some areas was actually sea shells! Definitely a must stop if you’re into beach days like we are!
Museums!
There are so many fun museums in St Augustine! Unfortunately we didn’t get to see them all but here are a few we enjoyed!
The Old City Streets!
One of our favorite things was to spend the evenings walking around exploring the old city streets! So many fun stores, historic buildings, and entertainment!
Other Fun To-Do’s!
We took a whole day and experienced the trolly tours. The trolly shuttle picked us up from our hotel and took us to Old Town where the trolly tours begin. This offers hop on & off options at local sites! An amazing way to experience the city without the worry of driving!

Voted most beautiful college by Travel & Leisure! This campus was so fun to explore. The beautiful grounds and architecture are amazing to experience!
The kids definitely loved this experience! The tours take you through the old jail and gives you an amazing history lesson! In the end, you can experience the old jail cells for yourself!
The Architecture!
We were able to experience and see some of the most amazing architecture in St Augustine while on the Trolly Tours! You can definitely see a good bit of these by foot if you prefer!
That’s a wrap for now! Stay tuned for our detailed hotel stay AND our favorite St Augustine eats!
