When a date night with friends is in place, Lee Lee's is the perfect spot. Located in downtown Charleston, Lee Lee's Hot Kitchen is an amazing place for an authentic Chinese cuisine. I recently tagged along with The Charleston Weekender, Charleston Shop Curator , their spouses & friends, for an amazing good time and even more amazing food for a date night at Lee Lee's !
The decor inside is so bright & fun. HUGE vintage Chinese posters adorned the bright red walls, while red bird cages hung above the bar. There were so many pops of color everywhere which added to the fun atmosphere.
The crowd began the night at the bar stocked with specialty cocktails, beer, & wine!
Afterwords, my favorite part.. the meal! Our service was more than excellent, and the food was some of the best authentic Chinese food I have ever eaten. While we enjoyed our meal, we were able to chat a bit with the chef himself, Jeff Cali. He truly has a passion for his talent and we were thankful for it! Here are a few of the delicious dishes we enjoyed..
CHAR SIU RIBS
with Chinese slaw
BEIJING COMFORT NOODLES:
ground pork, cucumbers, green onions, & house sauce
HONG SHO RO:
caramelized pork belly, five-spice sauce
SICHUAN DUMPLINGS:
pork dumplings, served in Sichuan pepper sauce, peanuts, green onions
The operating partner, Xan, was amazing and made sure we enjoyed our time and dinner. He even poured us a glass of wine to top off our meal!
If you find yourself in downtown Charleston and craving some authentic Chinese cuisine, head over to Lee Lee's Hot Kitchen. You wont be disappointed!
