Broad Street Beauty { Charleston SC Travel Photography }

A few weeks ago, as I usually do, I went out for an exploration and shoot session of this amazing city of ours, Charleston. I try and get downtown from across the bridge in Mt Pleasant as much as I can to capture this historic place full of iron gates, vibrant colors, and cobblestone streets. I am always amazed at the fact that every time I head downtown, even if I go to the exact same spot, I can always shoot something different that I missed before! This go 'round I found a spot to park on a side street off of Broad Street. I hadn't shot this way before so I decided it was a good place that day! I was lucky enough to get there as the sun was setting for some amazing shots (totally not planned, but I thankful for it!). As I look back at my car on the way up the street, I get my first shot... Approaching Broad, I could see the amazing Cathedral of Saint John .  This is one of my favorite structures in Charleston and you can obviously see why! I will more than likely...

Addilyn Celebrates with Sofia!

'I can not believe what I am shooting' I thought as I attended this Sofia the First birthday party. It seemed like only yesterday I was doing this little ladies newborn session. But yep, much to my surprise, Miss Addilyn was turning the big 4. So, that being said, lets take a quick flashback to four itty bitty years ago... ... sweet baby girl. Ahh I remember this day like yesterday. Ok ok enough sappiness, back to the celebration! Addilyn's mommy, also named Jennifer might I add (what can I say..it's a great name :), did an amazing job with her little ladies celebration. Sofia the First themed so of course, purple & pink flowed everywhere! It was an outdoor party and a tad windy at times, but we made it work! Mom mad a book made of Addilyn's year as a 3 year old and had it on display for everyone to see. What an amazing idea! She also made crown sugar cookies, which I originally thought she had bought at a bakery, for guest favors. Super cute! ...

The Cribb Family Maternity #2 { Charleston SC Photography}

I am so excited to shared this shoot! If you remember back a few mos ago, I posted  The Cribb Family Maternity Announcement Post  shoot I did in Florence. Well the time has come to post their maternity session! They traveled all the way to Charleston just for me and I could not have been more honored! I absolutely love this family. I have grown with them since before their first son was born and I am so excited to continue being a part of their memories! I was greeted at White Point Garden in downtown Charleston with a BIG hug from sweet little Jaxson! Totally made my day! We traveled all around the area shooting and ended at The Battery waters edge. Another successful shoot with this beautiful family! I can not wait to meet their sweet princess this weekend!

Good Eats! { Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Charleston SC }

I love food photography. No no, I mean I really LOVE food photography. Living here in Charleston there are so many good restaurants and I have decided to take advantage! So last weekend a dear sweet friend of mine and I decided to head downtown for the day. Just us, two teenage girls, a curious seven year old, and my 3 month old golden retriever puppy. What. Were. We. Thinking... Did we have a nice time? YES. Were we totally stressed by the end of the day? Heck YES! We spent the afternoon walking down King & up Market Streets checking out shops & boutiques while I, of course, got some great photos of this amazing place. We decided to make a pit stop at  Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  for a late lunch. I have been dying to give it a try and since it is kid & puppy friendly, it fit the part perfect. The waitress fell in love with our Dexter and he took the opportunity to eat & relax on the dog friendly patio.  So I decided to start with a Blood ...

Charleston Charm

Charleston SC is so rich in charming homes. Downtown you can find the most amazing homes that just make you want to say "Can I please have look inside?" The architecture of these homes are simply stunning and although some are similar in style, they are all different. Each home downtown has it's own personality and history.  I love spending days roaming these city streets capturing such beauty these homes have to offer. I always try to research the homes I capture in photographs if I can find them and see how they have changed over the last 100+ years (depending on the homes circa). I am a bit of a history buff so looking at the historic images of these homes is astounding. Of course there are some that no matter how high or low I search I just can't find any history. So for those, we just enjoy the present state. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do! Josiah Smith House, 7 Meeting Street, circa 1785 (Photo credit here) The George Robertson House,...
